Lesson Terms & Policies

Practical information about consultations, payments, cancellations and lesson organisation.

Last updated: September 2026

01

Free consultation

A free 30-minute online consultation is available before lessons begin.

This initial conversation gives us an opportunity to meet, assess your current level, discuss your goals and availability, and explain how the lessons are organised.

The consultation is free of charge and involves no commitment.

02

Lesson organisation

Lessons take place online at a time agreed between the student and Xenia Lingua.

Lessons are primarily offered on a one-to-one basis. Small-group lessons may also be arranged in certain circumstances, particularly for organisations.

Lesson content is adapted to each student’s level, goals and individual needs.

Xenia Lingua provides the digital learning materials required for each lesson at no additional cost. Students are not required to purchase a textbook or course method.

03

Prices and payment

Individuals

Lessons last 45 minutes and cost €30 per lesson. No package is required: each lesson is paid for individually.

After each lesson, the student receives a PayPal invoice by email. Payment is made directly through PayPal.

Expats

Lessons are offered in packages:

  • CHF 320 for 10 × 45-minute lessons;
  • CHF 480 for 10 × 60-minute lessons.

The full package price must be paid before the first paid lesson. Payment can be made by Swiss bank transfer or Twint.

Package validity

The package begins on the date of the first paid lesson. All 10 lessons must be taken within a maximum period of 12 consecutive weeks from that date.

Any remaining lessons will expire after 12 weeks and cannot be extended or refunded.

Organisations

Programmes for companies, international organisations, diplomatic missions and other institutions are tailored to their specific requirements.

The format, number of participants, duration, objectives, payment arrangements and price are set out in a personalised proposal.

04

Cancellations and rescheduling

A lesson may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge when Xenia Lingua is informed at least 24 hours before its scheduled start time.

A lesson cancelled or rescheduled less than 24 hours in advance remains payable.

For students who have purchased a package, the lesson will be deducted from the package. For students paying for lessons individually, a PayPal invoice will be issued as it would be for a completed lesson.

05

Student absence

If a student does not attend a lesson and has not informed Xenia Lingua, a waiting period of 15 minutes will apply.

If the student has not made contact after 15 minutes, the lesson will be considered a no-show. It remains payable and cannot be rescheduled.

For students who have purchased a package, the lesson will be deducted from the number of lessons remaining.

06

Student lateness

If a student arrives late, the lesson will still finish at the originally scheduled time so that subsequent lessons are not disrupted.

Time lost because of the student’s late arrival cannot be added to the end of the lesson or carried over to another lesson.

07

Regular lesson times

When a regular lesson time is reserved for a student, Xenia Lingua will make every effort to keep that time available each week.

However, repeated absences, cancellations or rescheduling requests may result in the student losing their regular time slot.

In this situation, a new lesson time may be offered according to the remaining availability. An equivalent time slot cannot be guaranteed.

08

Cancellations by Xenia Lingua

If Xenia Lingua needs to cancel a lesson, it will be rescheduled by mutual agreement. The lesson will not be invoiced or deducted from a package.

If the cancellation prevents the student from completing their package within the agreed period, the package expiry date will be extended accordingly.

09

Acceptance of these terms

Booking or paying for a lesson or package constitutes acceptance of these terms and policies.

Any specific terms agreed with an organisation in a proposal, quotation or contract will take precedence over these general terms.
